Spell Failure

No one has 100% success with all their spells. Some of them work, some of them do not work as you expected and with some nothing happens.

The important thing is to work out why what happened or did not happen occurred. Also to find out what you get best results with and what just falls on its face for you.

Different people will use different things to get the same results. I work with trees and water a lot; others may well use herbs, which I have never been attracted towards using although I understand they’re very popular.

Herne the Hunter

Herne the Hunter is not a Celtic deity. He originated as a 15th century person who was hanged on the Windsor estate. In those days he would have considered himself English, but people persist in seeing him as Celtic.

Everyone seems to want to jump on the bandwagon and be Celtic these days. There is nothing wrong with being Anglo-Saxon or plain English, it seems that it’s not sexy or fashionable enough.

Timing of Spells

I have two spells I do at certain times of the year : house protection at Imbolc and protecting my cat from illnesses at Beltane.

These are done because it’s appropriate to the festivals, but I could do them at any other time of the year if I forgot.

Some people time their spells for the phase of the moon, but I am not a moon person as I have never got on with it. If that works for you, then go with it, but don’t let it stop you from doing a spell if you really, really need one.
